G License in Ontario is a multi-step
license. It means that you have to
complete steps and add experience to be
able to go to the next step. There are
three steps that have to be completed in
order for you to get your G License.
The first step is the knowledge test. If
you pass the knowledge test, you will
receive your G1 License. You can only
drive when an experienced driver is
sitting by your side. For more

part. After a minimum of
8 months to a full year, you can take
the first "Road Test". In this test
which is called the G2 Road Test, you
will drive in city and complete some
tasks which are completely discussed in
our
G2 Road Test part. you will not
enter "Freeways" in this test. By
passing this test, you will receive your
G2 License. You can drive alone with
this license but you will have some
restrictions. After one
year of driving with your G2 License and
driving in Freeways (which include the
QEW, and the 400 Series Highways), you
can now take the G Road (Highway) Test.

this test, you get your G License. |
